Australian Satellite Services (ASCS) began operations in 1985, using the opportunity created by the launch of the Aussat A series domestic satellites to provide much needed television, broadcasting and other communication services in central Australia. The company's business now encompasses satellite broadcasting, satellite mobile and satellite network communications throughout Australasia, utilising many of the national and international satellites whose footprints are available in the region.
The company's activities range from design and consultancy through equipment supply and installation, project management and maintenance of in-house and outsourced communications networks.
The company also imports and distributes satellite communication equipment for commercial, government, professional and domestic markets in Australia. It is, in fact, a comprehensive satellite communications company, a leader in its field in Australia.
ASCS has its headquarters in Adelaide and maintains facilities in Sydney and Cadney Park (near Coober Pedy in South Australia). ASCS also has a distribution centre in Perth for MobileSat products. In addition the company has an extensive network of trained and experienced sub-contractors in metropolitan, rural and remote regions of Australia. There is nowhere in Australasia that is out of reach of the services that ASCS can provide.
