ASCS has designed VSAT networks for a variety of applications in Australia and assisted Gilat, a major manufacturer of VSAT networks, to establish its technology in the Australian market place. In 1998 ASCS installed a DAMA VSAT network to service mining and construction sites in northern Australia. The network has its hub station and network management centre at ASCS headquarters in Adelaide and utilises ViaSat Starwire technology.

ASCS can supply a range of VSAT equipment for C Band and Ku Band applications. Antennas, transceivers and electrical and mechanical components are selected from world-class manufacturers to ensure a cost effective installation to meet required specifications. ASCS is able to offer a turn key operation complete with planning, design, installation and a subsequent management and maintenance service.

ViaSat Starwire and Gilat SkyStar Advantage systems are two examples of very competitive satellite networks that have established in Australia with the assistance of ASCS. Starwire, manufactured in the USA by ViaSat, is a proprietary SCPC DAMA system with very good network management and growth potential. It is an ideal system for private voice and data networks and is already operational to deliver a voice and fax service for remote mine in Australia.

ASCS provides and maintains the network and operates the network management system in its Adelaide HQ where the gateway into the public telephone system is also located.
